Recruitment Manager – Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

About the role

The Recruitment Manager leads the design and execution of talent attraction strategies for specialist cohorts, including Child Safety Officers, while supporting strategic workforce planning for the department. This senior HR role partners with internal and external stakeholders to build organisational capability and enhance the employer brand.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage recruitment and induction services to optimise team performance and candidate onboarding.
• Oversee the Student Placement Program and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Staff and Student Career Program, providing advice to executives, universities, candidates and students.
• Manage employee value proposition activities to position the department as an employer of choice.
• Direct end‑to‑end recruitment for specialist cohorts, including advertising, qualification checks, interviews and database maintenance.
• Develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies using social media, talent pipelines, professional networks and internal databases.
• Ensure high standards of candidate care throughout sourcing and onboarding.
• Apply project management techniques, risk and issue management to deliver quality recruitment projects.
• Represent the department at career fairs, recruitment events and industry forums to attract talent and build strategic partnerships.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading recruitment teams and managing full‑cycle hiring processes.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship‑building skills across government, education and community sectors.
• Experience delivering student placement and diversity recruitment programs.
• Demonstrated ability to develop employer branding and employee value propositions.
• Solid project management capability, including risk and benefit realisation.
