Record Keeping Consultant

About the role

The Department of Mines, Petroleum and Exploration (DMPE) is seeking a Record Keeping Consultant to provide expert advice and support across the organisation’s record‑keeping functions. You will help ensure that information is managed efficiently, securely and in line with legislative requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide consultancy and support to staff on record‑keeping processes, procedures and systems.
• Conduct reviews and audits of existing record‑keeping practices.
• Assist in developing policies, procedures and guidelines for effective information management.
• Manage the business classification scheme and work with stakeholders to refine terminology.
• Support the creation of training and engagement programmes related to records management.
• Coordinate and deliver records‑management projects.

Required profile

• Current Western Australian C or C‑A class driver’s licence (or equivalent).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience in developing policies, procedures or guidelines is desirable.

Required skills

• Knowledge of records management principles and best practices.
