Radiologist – Staff Specialist (Full/Part Time)

About the role

The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is seeking up to two Staff Specialists in Radiology to join the Department of Medical Imaging at Nepean Hospital. These permanent positions can be full‑time or part‑time and involve delivering high‑quality imaging services across a growing regional population.

Key responsibilities

• Report plain films, perform fluoroscopic examinations and supervise ultrasound, CT, angiography and interventional procedures.
• Participate in the on‑call roster and provide imaging services to Blue Mountains District Anzac Memorial Hospital, supported by teleradiology.
• Supervise and teach junior medical staff and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education.
• Engage in research, quality improvement, peer review and departmental governance.

Required profile

• Fellowship of RANZCR, or RACP/RACS with CCINR registration, or equivalent specialist recognition.
• Registration or eligibility for registration with AHPRAS.
• Strong clinical knowledge in radiology and its subspecialties, with evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Commitment to teamwork, teaching and supervision of junior staff.

Required skills

• Plain film reporting.
• Fluoroscopy and ultrasound supervision.
• CT and angiography interpretation.
• Interventional radiology procedures.
• MRI reporting (FRANZCR accreditation programme).
