Radar / Electronics Technician (C-Band)

About the role

Raytheon Australia supports the Harold E. Holt (HEH) Defence Precinct in Exmouth, Western Australia, which hosts the Space Surveillance Telescope, the C-Band RADAR and the VLF radio transmission capability. The company is growing rapidly and is seeking a Radar / Electronics Technician (C-Band) to work onsite at the Naval Comms external site. You will report to the Space System Supervisor (C-Band RADAR).

Key responsibilities

• Perform planned and corrective maintenance on the C-Band RADAR system and its subsystems.
• Carry out maintenance planning and reporting.
• Perform RADAR calibrations and interpret the results.
• Work in a Linux system environment.
• Write technical reports.
• Provide logistics support.
• Maintain strong relationships with domestic and international stakeholders.
• Action customer requests and other tasks supporting program and operational requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum of a Certificate III in Electronics (Communications or Control) or a relevant technical discipline.
• Experience in defence/maritime radar, combat systems, complex communication and/or mechanical systems.
• Eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance (NV1).
• Willingness to relocate to the Exmouth region; relocation assistance may be considered.

Required skills

• Excellent analytical and fault-finding skills.
• Confident operation and interpretation of data from a wide range of test equipment.
• Linux system environment.
