Quarry Maintenance and Mining Supervisor

About the role

Heidelberg Materials is recruiting a Quarry Maintenance and Mining Supervisor for its Red Hill Quarry in Western Australia. Reporting to the Quarry Manager, the supervisor oversees maintenance tasks for daily mining and crushing operations so that aggregates are produced efficiently and safely, and also coordinates an on-site stripping fleet. The role manages a team, monitors maintenance processes and drives continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate quarry production activities so targets are met
• Enforce health, safety and environmental regulations across the site
• Lead, train and motivate quarry staff to maximise efficiency and teamwork
• Work with the Site Production Supervisor to monitor equipment and coordinate maintenance, minimising downtime
• Maintain accurate production records and report on performance metrics
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, cost-effectiveness and sustainability
• Ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations
• Manage high-risk activities and reduce risk exposure for self and others

Required profile

• Experience in quarrying, mining or a related industry (supervisory experience preferred)
• Experience coaching and developing a team with a focus on maintenance enhancement and improvement
• Strong results focus, self-motivation and a commitment to risk management and Zero Harm
• Team player who can multi-task and make quick decisions under pressure, with a continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and to solve problems proactively

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of crushing plants and heavy mobile equipment
