About the role
Join AECOM's Energy Advisory practice to turn complex quantitative models into clear commercial advice for clients navigating the energy transition. This client‑facing position works closely with senior advisors to deliver insights on market design, investment and policy decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Build, run and interrogate quantitative techno‑economic, energy market and dispatch models, selecting the appropriate approach for each client question.
- Translate technical model outputs into commercial insights, recommendations and clear reports for non‑technical audiences.
- Work independently on modelling tasks, flagging assumptions and limitations to senior team members and clients.
- Present analysis, defend modelling assumptions and contribute to broader advisory engagements beyond modelling.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of work experience, including at least 3 years in quantitative modelling.
- Experience in advisory or consulting roles with direct client interaction.
- Strong interest in energy markets and sectoral decarbonisation pathways.
Required skills
- Python programming.
- Experience with GAMS, PLEXOS or similar energy modelling tools.
