Quality Specialist – Environmental & Sanitation

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Specialist focused on environmental and sanitation to join our small quality team at the Lenah Valley dairy manufacturing site. The role is based onsite, Monday‑Friday, and involves driving day‑to‑day laboratory functions, training staff, and ensuring compliance with product and hygiene standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, implement and monitor the Laboratory Quality System and GLP standards, aligning with site, Bega Group and customer requirements.
• Manage the laboratory document control system via Intelex, ensuring accurate records and compliance.
• Prepare and deliver timely reports on sampling, testing and verification activities (pathogens, shelf‑life, swabbing, trade waste) to senior leaders.
• Conduct GMP and internal audits and support verification of site hygiene, food safety and environmental monitoring.
• Coordinate servicing, maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven ability to engage with all organisational levels, from leadership to operational staff.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, including root‑cause analysis and detailed reporting.
• Experience with HACCP, GMP, GLP and BRC standards.
