About the role
The Maintenance Fitter will join a small, close‑knit reliability team at the Lenah Valley site in Hobart, supporting a high‑volume dairy manufacturing operation. The role involves both electrical and mechanical maintenance tasks, project work and continuous improvement of automated equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Provide maintenance support and breakdown rectification across the site.
- Assist in delivering minor works and capital‑expenditure (Capex) projects.
- Identify and support reliability improvement opportunities.
- Perform scheduled and ad‑hoc safety checks while maintaining high standards of safe work practices.
- Coach operators in basic problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis.
Required profile
- Certificate III in Engineering or a mechanical trade.
- Experience in a manufacturing and/or FMCG environment.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance methods and ability to investigate problems, determine and implement root‑cause corrections.
- Commitment to safety and safe systems of work.
- Effective communication skills with a diverse workforce.
