Quality Operator – Sensory (Food Science)

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position is ideal for candidates with a scientific background who want to start or progress their career in the food industry. You will work in the QA department, focusing on sensory panel set‑up, raw and packaging material testing, and supplier communication.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and conduct sensory panels, record results in SAP and analyse data where required.
• Collaborate with logistics to manage incoming raw and pack materials.
• Perform sampling, laboratory analyses and report findings for raw and pack materials.
• Train casual and production operators on sampling and analysis procedures.
• Assist investigations of out‑of‑specification results.
• Manage non‑conforming raw and packaging materials, including supplier communication.
• Provide coverage for other laboratory areas, including chemistry tasks and continuous improvement projects.

Required profile

• A degree in food science or a related scientific discipline (students or diploma holders are also encouraged to apply).
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong ability to work independently, multitask and deliver accurate results.
• Keen interest in laboratory and factory environments.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and support additional shifts when needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP software.
• Competent use of Microsoft Office applications.
