Quality Management Specialist

About the role

The Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) will develop, implement, maintain and continuously improve L3Harris Australia's Quality Management System (QMS) to meet ISO 9001 and AS 9100 standards. The role ensures products and services consistently exceed customer expectations and drives a culture of quality across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and continually improve the QMS in line with ISO 9001 and AS 9100 requirements.
• Conduct regular internal audits, identify non‑compliance, and manage corrective actions.
• Monitor quality performance metrics, analyse trends and drive improvement initiatives.
• Lead root‑cause analysis and problem‑solving activities to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
• Coordinate external audits and act as the primary contact for ISO 9001 and AS 9100 certifications.
• Provide guidance to teams during the development and implementation of new processes, products and services.
• Travel to other Maritime Australia sites as required (approximately 15% of time).

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience implementing and managing a QMS compliant with ISO 9001 and/or AS 9100.
• Ability to obtain and hold an NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance.

Required skills

• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualification (highly desirable).
• AS 9100 Auditor qualification or experience (highly desirable).
• Strong audit and corrective‑action management skills.
• Root‑cause analysis and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
