Quality Engineer – Renewable Energy (Hybrid Solar Farm)

About the role

You will join a fast‑growing engineering team supporting large‑scale photovoltaic projects, substations and Battery Energy Storage Systems. Reporting daily to the Quality Manager in Australia and working closely with the Project Manager, you will ensure installations meet safety, quality and incentive eligibility requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 and relevant industry standards.
• Conduct inspections and audits of solar panel installations, electrical systems and civil works to verify compliance with project specifications and Australian safety standards.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to quality requirements.
• Assist in developing and reviewing quality documentation such as Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements and Work Instructions.
• Produce clear weekly and monthly operational reports.
• Investigate non‑conformances, perform root‑cause analysis and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results and quality reports.
• Support commissioning and hand‑over processes by ensuring complete and accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction and HSE teams to promote continuous improvement.
• Identify training needs and deliver guidance on correct installation methods and quality procedures.

Required profile

• 1‑4 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably within renewable energy.
• Hands‑on experience with hybrid solar farm projects for major utilities.
• Strong knowledge of Australian standards such as AS/NZS 5033 and AS/NZ 4777.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team, manage multiple tasks and maintain a strategic approach.
