Quality Consultant – Data Centre Construction Project

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quality Consultant to support a major data centre construction project in Melbourne’s Hume Region. Working as an independent contractor, you will ensure that quality standards are met across all phases of the build.

Key responsibilities

• Provide quality assurance and quality control support throughout the construction lifecycle.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, standards and quality requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and quality assessments, identifying and resolving non‑conformances.
• Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation and contractor submissions.
• Support defect management, corrective actions and project close‑out processes.
• Maintain accurate quality records, reports and project documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, site teams, consultants and subcontractors to achieve quality objectives.
• Promote continuous‑improvement initiatives and best‑practice quality processes.
• Participate in client inspections, quality reviews and handover activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Quality Consultant, QA/QC or Quality Assurance professional on major construction or infrastructure projects.
• Experience on data centre, commercial or industrial construction projects is highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of construction quality management systems, ITPs and inspection processes.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Relevant qualifications in Construction, Engineering, Quality Management or a related discipline.
• Construction White Card (essential).
• Proactive approach with a commitment to delivering high‑quality outcomes.
