Quality Assurance Manager

About the role

Austworld, Australia’s largest wholesaler and manufacturer of plumbing and tapware, is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead its product quality system. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will oversee internal and external ISO 9001 audits, drive statistical process controls, and collaborate across departments and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a small team of quality inspectors and engineers, managing stock inspection and approval before shipment.
• Establish and maintain QA systems for new products and projects.
• Prepare and follow up on audit schedules, CARs, NCRs, RFIs, and TQs.
• Improve product quality, manage engineering changes, and ensure accurate testing methodologies.
• Report quality feedback from sales and support new product development from design to launch.
• Control warranty rates, implement containment actions, and maintain compliance with WELS, Watermark and water authority standards.
• Generate and manage quality documentation, control plans, sample plans, and data repositories.
• Conduct technical investigations, statistical analysis, and write detailed reports.
• Coordinate inter‑department communication, log customer claims, and work with suppliers on shipment quality improvements.
• Travel internationally to support the manufacturing facility in China.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or tertiary qualification in engineering with strong mechanical knowledge.
• 5+ years of experience in a quality management role within manufacturing.
• Proven ability to lead ISO 9001 audit processes and implement statistical process controls.
• Excellent communication skills across multiple departments and with external suppliers.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
