QA & Safety Officer – Steel Processing

About the role

We are looking for an experienced QA & Safety Officer to join our steel processing and fabrication business in Canning Vale. The role is hands‑on, working closely with management and staff to uphold the highest standards of quality, health and safety, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the Quality Management System and related workplace procedures.
• Establish, review and improve quality standards, specifications and processes.
• Investigate, manage and resolve Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) and monitor quality performance.
• Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards and legislative requirements.
• Develop, implement and review WHS policies, procedures and programs.
• Conduct workplace inspections, hazard identification and risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents, prepare reports and drive corrective and preventative actions.
• Provide guidance and coaching on safe work practices and promote a positive safety culture.
• Identify training needs, coordinate inductions and ongoing employee training programmes.
• Support employee relations and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Previous QA and/or Safety experience in the steel processing or steel fabrication industry (essential).
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and quality management principles.
• Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations and manage NCRs.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Proactive attitude with a passion for continuous improvement.
