QA Automation Engineer - Full-Stack Web & API

About the role

An experienced QA Automation Engineer is sought to build and own test automation across a modern technology platform built with React applications, Web Components, REST and GraphQL APIs, cloud services and AI/LLM integrations. The role covers UI, API, integration and data layers, and includes quality assurance of AI-enabled features, with a focus on CI/CD integration. It is a full-time position based in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable UI, API, integration and end-to-end automation frameworks using Playwright, Jest, JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Build automated test suites that validate complete user journeys across React single-page applications and Web Components.
• Develop functional, contract, integration and regression tests for REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Own automation deliverables across test strategy, framework development, CI/CD integration, reporting and continuous improvement.
• Validate AI/LLM features against representative test datasets and quality criteria, and test output relevance, consistency, safety, latency, error handling and model changes.
• Build mocks, stubs and service virtualisation for cloud dependencies, authentication services, message queues and AI/LLM providers.
• Automate security-sensitive workflows involving SSO, OAuth, JWT-based authorisation, file uploads and asynchronous processing.
• Stabilise existing browser-automation suites and integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines with quality gates.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools responsibly and collaborate with developers, product managers and platform teams to catch quality risks early.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in test automation for web applications, APIs and integrated systems.
• Proven experience testing GraphQL, REST APIs (OpenAPI or Swagger), React applications and Web Components.
• Experience with API contract testing, mocking cloud dependencies and testing LLM/generative AI providers such as Vertex AI, OpenAI or Gemini.
• Experience testing JWT, SSO and OAuth flows; preferred: AI evaluation frameworks, prompt workflows, message queues (RabbitMQ, AMQP), file-upload security pipelines, visual regression tools (Percy, Chromatic), axe-core, Stencil or Lit, and monorepos.
