PV & BESS Engineer

About the role

A renewable energy business, backed by financial investors and developing, delivering, owning and operating solar and battery storage assets across Australia, is looking for a PV & BESS Engineer in Sydney. The engineer leads the electrical design of commercial and industrial solar PV and BESS projects, from feasibility and system design through to delivery, while helping optimise asset performance and support future project growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and optimise solar PV and BESS systems for commercial and industrial applications.
• Lead feasibility studies, system sizing, technical specifications and engineering documentation.
• Develop electrical infrastructure designs, single-line diagrams and technical documentation to support project delivery.
• Collaborate with project teams, clients and technology partners to deliver quality, cost-effective solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve design standards, technical capability and project delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years' experience in solar PV and BESS engineering and system design.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV, BESS integration and relevant electrical standards.

Required skills

• Experience with PVsyst and AutoCAD.
• Problem-solving and project coordination skills.
