Purchasing Specialist

About the role

Join Babcock’s high‑performing procurement team in Henderson, WA, and support the delivery of critical national capability projects. This permanent, full‑time position offers the chance to develop your procurement career while working alongside experienced professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Execute day‑to‑day purchasing transactions using the ERP system.
• Support sourcing activities, including market research, supplier analysis and preparation of procurement documentation.
• Assist with contract formation, negotiation, lifecycle management and risk mitigation.
• Maintain accurate reporting, contract status tracking and compliance with Babcock’s procurement standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, quality, commercial and trade‑control teams to resolve supplier queries.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of tools, templates and processes.

Required profile

• Australian citizen with a Defence Security Clearance (or ability to obtain).
• Relevant qualifications or experience in procurement, supply chain, finance, commerce or logistics.
• Previous procurement experience, preferably in project‑based or complex operational environments.
• Demonstrated ability to run sourcing exercises (RFQ/RFI/RFT) and manage supplier relationships.
• Strong stakeholder engagement across procurement, operations and commercial teams.
