About the role

Bechtel is seeking a Purchasing Professional to lead procurement activities for the Eva Copper Mine Project in Queensland. The role involves developing purchasing documentation, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements to support project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and prepare project master purchasing pro‑forma forms, including legal and commercial terms.
• Create, maintain, and monitor bidder lists across all procurement functions.
• Issue and administer purchase orders in line with project specifications.
• Lead negotiations for purchase commitments and resolve supplier issues.
• Plan and forecast purchasing staff requirements and develop procurement procedures.
• Ensure compliance with prime contract requirements and project purchasing policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing within large‑scale engineering or construction projects.
• Strong understanding of legal and commercial contract terms.
• Ability to lead and coordinate a purchasing team.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with suppliers.
