Purchasing Officer – Procurement & Quoting Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Purchasing Officer to manage transactional purchasing and quoting activities for the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator. The role ensures accurate record‑keeping, audit compliance and smooth facilitation of purchase orders while supporting internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Request quotes, respond to supplier queries and maintain accurate procurement records and audit trails.
• Facilitate the purchase order process and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
• Support stakeholder engagement, maintain team communication channels and contribute to procurement data insights.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and ensure compliance with NHVR policies, governance standards and legislative requirements.
• Foster effective relationships with suppliers, stakeholders and partners while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience in procurement or purchasing roles.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in procurement, supply chain or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence outcomes.
• High attention to detail, excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Commitment to delivering excellent customer service and handling sensitive information with discretion.
