Purchasing Officer – Manufacturing

About the role

Join a growing Australian manufacturer as a Purchasing Officer, supporting supplier, inventory and procurement activities. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, you will help ensure stock availability and smooth purchasing operations in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage purchase orders, supplier relationships and stock replenishment.
• Coordinate with local and international suppliers to secure timely deliveries and provide ETAs.
• Maintain inventory levels, support forecasting and update ERP records.
• Process invoices, reconcile purchase orders and resolve discrepancies.
• Source new suppliers and assist with procurement initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet operational requirements and provide project purchasing support.

Required profile

• Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management or supply chain within manufacturing, FMCG, wholesale or distribution.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
• Ability to prioritise competing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proactive, resilient and solutions‑focused approach, capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Experience with ERP systems (Pronto preferred) for purchasing and inventory data.
