Purchasing Officer

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Purchasing Officer to join our Perth Airport catering unit. In this full‑time permanent position you will support high‑volume aviation catering production by managing the purchase, receipt, storage and issue of goods.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal operational teams.
• Raise purchase orders in line with company systems and procedures.
• Manage stock levels across onsite and offsite storage, ensuring correct rotation and availability.
• Verify deliveries against purchase orders and documentation requirements.
• Apply HACCP, QSAI, WHS and food‑safety standards at all times.
• Use passenger forecasts to support accurate purchasing and stock planning.
• Inspect deliveries for quality, temperature control, hygiene and compliance.
• Monitor use‑by and best‑before dates to minimise waste.
• Maintain clean and compliant storage areas, including cool rooms and freezers.
• Complete monthly stocktakes, report wastage and record non‑conforming products.

Required profile

• Experience in purchasing, stores, inventory or supply‑chain environments.
• Knowledge of HACCP, food safety, WHS and quality systems (QSAI desirable).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Forklift licence or willingness to obtain within three months.
• Airline catering or food manufacturing experience is desirable.
