Purchasing Officer – Fixed Term (12 months)

About the role
BAE Systems is seeking a Purchasing Officer to manage contracting arrangements with qualified suppliers, ensuring cost, schedule, quality and safety objectives are met. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term position within a high‑volume production environment.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse production requirements and RFQ demand.
- Raise, process and issue large volumes of purchase orders.
- Monitor purchase order status from creation through delivery and invoice payment.
- Develop and maintain productive supplier relationships.
- Proactively manage supplier performance against schedule, cost and quality KPIs.
- Administer purchase orders in line with procedures and Delegations of Authority.
Required profile
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (desirable).
- Defence industry experience and knowledge of sub‑contracts in fabrication (highly regarded).
- Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and deliver commitments.
- Eligibility for defence security clearance and ITAR clearance.
Required skills
- Experience with Aveva.
- Experience with Oracle procurement systems.
