Purchasing Lead

About the role

The Purchasing Lead will oversee the procurement of all goods required across multiple warehouse locations for a leading multinational tool manufacturer. Reporting to senior management, the role manages a team of three purchasing officers and balances cost, quality, and delivery for both local and overseas suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, develop and manage a team of purchasing officers.
• Design and execute procurement strategies for domestic and international sourcing.
• Create, adjust and finalise purchase orders for local and import transactions.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, quality standards and reliable delivery.
• Collaborate with inventory, sales and operations teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Work with Finance to manage budgets, forecast spend and drive cost‑saving initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain or purchasing, preferably within the power‑tools or construction sector.
• Proven negotiation skills and ability to manage supplier relationships.
• Strong understanding of purchasing processes, stock replenishment and cost control.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with inventory management systems.
• Familiarity with purchasing software or procurement management platforms.
