Purchasing Cost Controller

About the role
The Purchasing Cost Controller will oversee financial management of project costs across the Capricorn Group. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance, you will ensure purchase orders, budgets and actual expenditures are accurately aligned, captured and reported throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and control project costs, ensuring alignment with approved budgets and financial policies.
- Issue, track and reconcile purchase orders using standalone or ERP‑integrated systems.
- Produce timely cost reports, identify variances and provide financial analysis for decision‑making.
- Support cost planning, forecasting, accruals and reconciliations across business units.
- Liaise with external suppliers and service providers to guarantee accurate cost capture and record‑keeping.
- Drive continuous improvement in cost visibility and financial governance.
Required profile
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience using purchase order systems, either standalone or integrated with an ERP.
- Proven ability to roll out purchase order solutions and train staff.
- Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
