Pump Crew Operator (Open Cut Mining)

About the role
Thiess Mount Pleasant Operation is seeking an experienced pump hand / pit services operator with open cut experience. The role is a permanent full-time position on a day-shift only 5/4 4/5 5/5 lifestyle roster that includes weekend work.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and inspect dewatering pumps
- Complete welding and installation of HDPE pipelines (desired but not essential)
- Record service dates on equipment accurately and on time
- Carry out basic effective maintenance
- Ensure compliance with statutory legislation
- Perform dewatering duties in active mining environments
- Follow safe workplace methods
Required profile
- Dewatering competency and experience (desired)
- Chainsaw ticket, poly welding ticket and experience in poly welding (desired but not essential)
- Experience operating D10/D11 dozers, small excavators or front-end loaders; civil experience desired
- Basic rigging licence (desired)
- Good communication skills, commitment to safety, community and environmental standards, initiative and flexibility
- Ability to follow direction, be self-motivated and work well in a team
