Public Transport Operations Communications Senior Officer

About the role

Join the Operations Communications team to deliver proactive and real‑time communications for public transport services, disruptions, operational readiness projects and emergency events. You will create clear, accessible information for customers, communities and transport operators.

Key responsibilities

• Provide proactive and real‑time communications support for transport operations, including disruptions, crisis and emergency management.
• Develop customer‑focused content for service updates, communications plans, publications and digital channels.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with operators, project teams, customers and community stakeholders.
• Coordinate review, approval and delivery of communications materials to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Support media activities by monitoring issues, preparing responses and identifying opportunities.

Required profile

• Experienced communications professional capable of turning complex operational information into clear messages.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, planning and content development skills across traditional and digital channels.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage competing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in communications or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to work occasional outside normal business hours.
