Propeller Technician

About the role

GE Aerospace in Brisbane is looking for a Propeller Technician to support its customers by carrying out industry best-practice repair and overhaul work on DOWTY propeller systems. You will report to the DOWTY supervisor and carry out OEM-directed maintenance in a component workshop on platforms such as the De Havilland Dash 8-400, Leonardo's C27J and Lockheed Martin C130J Hercules.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on-site propeller system maintenance, including repairs, service bulletin and airworthiness directive implementation, and preventative maintenance.
• Give technical instruction and assistance to customers within the scope of formal technical documents.
• Provide hands-on technical support to GE manufacturing and repair facilities to meet output requirements.
• Maintain knowledge of product line and aftermarket contractual obligations.
• Train and oversee apprentices and less experienced team members.
• Handle administrative tasks such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, supporting quotations and capturing sales and cost-avoidance opportunities.
• Follow site quality, safety, environmental, health and compliance policies, and raise identified risks using the provided systems.
• Keep up with international trade compliance and respond accurately and on time to customer queries, tracking them to closure.

Required profile

• Certificate IV in Aeroskills - Mechanical/Structures or equivalent.
• Experience in the maintenance and repair of propellers in both workshop and field environments.
• Track record of high-level customer service and proven ability to train people and write technical reports.
• Experience working successfully in a small team and knowledge of civil and military regulatory frameworks.
• Commitment to a healthy, safe and compliant workplace; security clearance may be required.
• All candidates are subject to drug and alcohol testing under the approved DAMP.
