Project/Design Architect (Full‑time, Mermaid Beach)

About the role

BDA Architecture is seeking a full‑time Project/Design Architect to join its Mermaid Beach studio. You will shape design concepts, produce detailed documentation, and guide projects from early design through construction.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design concepts and feasibility studies that respond to site, climate, and regulatory contexts.
• Prepare architectural drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review technical details, construction drawings and ensure design quality.
• Support and mentor junior team members and contribute to project reviews.

Required profile

• Strong architectural design and conceptual development abilities, especially in site‑responsive and context‑driven projects.
• Proficiency in producing detailed documentation and specifications for approvals and construction.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for client presentations and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Knowledge of building codes, standards, local planning regulations and sustainability considerations.
• Professional architecture degree; registration or eligibility for registration is highly beneficial.
