Project Manager – Minor Bids & S&Qs

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking a Project Manager to lead the development of minor bids and S&Qs within the HF Sensing product portfolio. Reporting to the Business Operations Manager, you will collaborate with program managers, delivery teams and functional groups to create value‑for‑money proposals that meet customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop repeatable proposal processes, templates and artefacts to improve efficiency.
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings to advance proposal development and identify risks and opportunities.
• Negotiate proposal funding and raise risk draw‑down proposals on behalf of program managers.
• Work with Commercial and Finance to conduct LCM reviews, bid approvals and cost/price assessments.
• Produce supporting artefacts such as DAREO registers, statements of work, time‑phased budgets and basis of estimate.
• Engage supply chain, suppliers and sub‑contractors as required.
• Ensure smooth handover of awarded proposals to program managers or delivery teams.
• Identify and implement improvements in proposal prioritisation, tracking and management.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar project management or bid development role.
• Proven ability to motivate cross‑functional teams and deliver project requirements.
• Excellent communication skills, adaptable to diverse audiences.
• Strong capability to balance conflicting priorities and engage stakeholders.
• Negotiation experience and ability to manage risks and opportunities.
