Project Manager - Mining Projects

About the role

Lycopodium, a global provider of professional engineering and project delivery services in the resources, infrastructure and industrial processes sectors, is hiring a Project Manager reporting to the Group Manager – Project Delivery. This is a critical leadership role covering overall project delivery and its resources, for a seasoned professional with extensive experience managing medium-to-large scale mining and minerals projects locally and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the project team's output is aligned with project needs, company objectives, client requirements and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain project-specific procedures, work practices, plans and protocols so the team works efficiently and to a high standard.
• Oversee all project activities, prioritising safety, environment, community and industrial relations.
• Manage project control (reporting, costs, schedule, trends and change management) accurately and on time, in line with the contract and in-house procedures.
• Ensure schedules, budgets and target deliverables are met to a consistently high standard.
• Build and maintain productive client relationships.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of post-graduate experience in mineral processing or related industries, ideally in an EPCM environment.
• Critical experience delivering mining projects locally and internationally; gold, base metal ore or lithium projects are highly desirable.
• Ability to travel internationally or locally as required.
• Strong technical background with a broad multi-disciplinary base.
• Experience directing and influencing multi-disciplinary teams, consultants and contractors, and building relationships with clients, vendors and co-workers.
• Intuitive leader able to lead and manage change in a complex environment.

Required skills

• Thorough understanding of project implementation, constructability, OH&S, environmental, community and industrial relations issues.
• Project control and cost management.
