Project Manager – Major Capital Projects

About the role

Coogee is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead major capital projects across its chemical manufacturing and bulk liquid storage operations. Reporting to the Major Projects Manager, you will own the full project lifecycle from feasibility through to hand‑over.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of assigned projects in line with scope, cost, schedule, safety, quality and governance requirements.
• Develop and maintain execution plans, schedules, cost forecasts, change‑control processes and risk registers.
• Manage contractors, consultants and suppliers to ensure safe, efficient and compliant execution.
• Identify, assess and mitigate technical, safety, environmental, schedule and commercial risks.
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Dangerous Goods regulations and process‑safety standards.
• Coordinate and review engineering designs, specifications and technical documentation.
• Provide technical leadership through feasibility, design, construction, commissioning and hand‑over phases.
• Prepare and present progress, cost and risk reports to senior management.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement of Major Projects practices.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (Engineers Australia accredited); Chartered status or pathway preferred.
• Minimum 5 years experience delivering engineering capital projects, preferably in chemical manufacturing or tank‑terminal environments.
• Strong project‑management capability including cost control, scheduling, contractor management and governance compliance.
• Solid understanding of WHS, Dangerous Goods and process‑safety obligations.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
