Project Manager

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking a Project Manager to lead small to medium‑scale projects within its Australian defence portfolio. You will work with cross‑functional teams, sub‑contractors and customers to deliver outcomes on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver project work in line with BAE Systems Australia’s Project Management policies and operational framework.
• Foster a collaborative culture among stakeholders, including customers, sub‑contractors and suppliers.
• Document project requirements, business cases and briefs, and track progress against key success indicators.
• Balance scope, quality, schedule and cost, applying Earned Value Management techniques.
• Ensure products and services comply with the Product Safety Policy and achieve customer satisfaction.
• Complete project closure activities, including lessons‑learned documentation.
• Identify and implement Value for Money initiatives to improve outcomes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a project or business management role.
• Understanding of Earned Value Management principles.
• Ability to work closely with teams and coordinate planning and reporting.
• Experience using JIRA and Confluence.
• Background in engineering, hardware or software is preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience managing sub‑contractors, consultants and cross‑functional suppliers.
