Project Manager - Electricity Networks

About the role

UGL's Utilities Operations & Maintenance business is growing rapidly across Victoria and is looking for an experienced Project Manager to own electricity distribution and transmission projects from tender through to close-out. The role works directly with major network clients such as Powercor, AusNet and emerging opportunities with United Energy, and suits someone who wants greater ownership, autonomy and scope.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of electricity network projects across Victoria through the full lifecycle: tender support, planning, workforce management, cost control, client engagement, delivery and close-out.
• Manage project performance on safety, commercial, quality and delivery outcomes, including budgets, forecasting, risk management, variations and compliance.
• Coordinate resources including internal delivery teams, supervisors, field crews, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders and support business growth through tendering, pricing and operational improvements.
• Initially cover a mix of distribution network projects while supporting the growth of the United Energy portfolio; later help build and lead larger delivery teams.

Required profile

• Experience managing power network, electricity distribution, transmission or utilities infrastructure projects.
• Similar Project Manager experience in electricity distribution, transmission, utilities or power network environments.
• Comfortable managing competing priorities, making decisions and travelling to electricity depots around Victoria.

• Budgets, forecasting, variations and project cost management.
• Managing subcontractors, field crews and project stakeholders.
• Project planning, scheduling, risk and delivery management.
