Project Manager – Defence (Construction)

About the role

RPS is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale defence and infrastructure construction projects for our Perth team. The position is office-based with regular short-distance travel to client sites, including Garden Island, to support project delivery and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage construction contracts, contract administration and design management for complex projects.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
• Coordinate stakeholder communications and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and designers.
• Travel to site-based meetings and activities as required, particularly on Garden Island.
• Ensure project schedules, budgets and quality standards are met.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in project management, architecture, engineering, construction management or a related field.
• Australian citizenship with ability to obtain a minimum Australian Government Baseline Security Clearance.
• 5+ years of project management experience in construction, preferably with client-side, contractor or designer exposure.
• Demonstrated experience in the defence sector.
• Strong organisational, time-management and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proven stakeholder management, communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).
• AIPM Certified Practising Project Manager certification is advantageous.
