Project Manager – Capital Works Programme

About the role

The Queensland Police Service is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a major state‑wide capital works programme. You will oversee new, replacement and upgrade projects across police facilities, training centres, fleet workshops and more, while shaping the service’s capital delivery framework.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate large‑scale capital works projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Consult and negotiate with senior management to develop and refine the capital programme delivery framework.
• Act as the primary departmental contact for all state‑wide capital works matters.
• Produce regular status and financial reports, briefings and submissions for management and committees.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain compliance with governance and resource management processes.
• Represent the project team in multi‑agency government forums and industry meetings.
• Provide guidance to stakeholders to support informed business decisions and process improvements.

Required profile

• Proven ability to provide strategic direction and leadership on complex, high‑value projects.
• Experience working within government or public‑sector project environments and adhering to Whole‑of‑Government best practices.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the capacity to prepare clear, concise documentation for senior audiences.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation capabilities.
• Commitment to professional standards, ethical practice and organisational objectives.
