Project Engineer – Mining & Metals

About the role

As a Project Engineer in our Mining & Metals division, you will be based in the Gladstone office and work on a range of small‑to‑medium engineering projects that directly impact the region’s mining sector. You will join a collaborative team that values diverse ideas and delivers engineered solutions with people and outcomes in mind.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery of multiple engineering projects and work packages across the Gladstone portfolio.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, piping, electrical, structural) to ensure seamless project execution.
• Lead project planning activities, including proposals, scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting and task coordination.
• Maintain strong client relationships, providing regular project updates and reporting.
• Oversee engineering deliverables to ensure technical quality, safety, environmental compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Identify and manage project risks, resolve technical and site‑based issues, and support development of local capability and team leadership.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with exposure to mechanical/piping and electrical projects in mining, oil & gas or related industrial sectors.
• RPEQ registration is highly regarded.
• 10+ years of engineering experience operating at a senior project delivery level.
• Proven project delivery and management skills, including coordination of multidisciplinary teams, schedules, budgets and client expectations.
• Strong problem‑solving, risk‑management and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills with a hands‑on, adaptable approach.
