Project Engineer – Mechanical (Mackay, Australia)

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Project Engineer with a mechanical focus to join our fast‑paced Field Mining Services (FMS) Group. This full‑time position offers a blend of on‑site and office work in Mackay, providing exposure to project engineering, design and product development across mining and construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site project engineering support including cost control, Gantt updates, QA management and technical assistance.
• Deliver office‑based support such as quoting, tender preparation, pad layout design, lift planning and Gantt chart creation.
• Assist the project team in improving systems, documentation and site processes.
• Design and engineer new jigs, roll out updated designs on‑site, and support engineering initiatives.
• Contribute to winning new projects and ensuring successful project execution through to closeout.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of project engineering experience.
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and solve complex problems.
• Strong analytical, conceptual and collaborative abilities.
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Project and spreadsheet applications.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for internal and external stakeholder interaction.
