Project Engineer – Contract Role for Major New Build Project

About the role
We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join a Tier 2 builder on a high‑profile, $50M+ commercial new‑build project. The role is contract‑based and involves close collaboration with the Project Manager and on‑site team to deliver the project from structural works through to finishes and handover.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate subcontractors and manage daily site activities.
- Procure and let trade packages in line with project schedules.
- Track programme progress, develop short‑term plans and support forecasting.
- Control costs, manage variations and maintain budgetary compliance.
- Oversee QA documentation, compliance and safety standards.
- Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs.
- Facilitate stakeholder communication among consultants, subcontractors and client representatives.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer with a recognised Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder.
- Strong background on large‑scale new‑build projects valued at $50M+.
- Exposure to commercial, mixed‑use, health, education, residential or infrastructure sectors.
- Excellent technical and contractual understanding.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Relevant construction or engineering qualifications.
