About the role

Maas Construct, a leading Australian building construction company, is seeking a senior Project Director to lead a major construction project across Australia. The role carries full accountability for delivery, commercial performance, health‑safety‑environment (HSE) outcomes and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and direct the entire project team to meet program milestones and ensure on‑time delivery.
• Provide overall leadership to the Construction Operations Manager, Project Manager, Site Manager and Engineering Lead.
• Manage client and principal stakeholder relationships, addressing issues promptly and professionally.
• Chair project governance meetings and enforce strong project controls, risk management and reporting disciplines.
• Accountable for extensions of time (EOT) management, approving submissions and coordinating commercial strategy.
• Drive HSE performance and quality assurance, fostering a safety‑first culture.
• Approve major subcontract procurement decisions and review project budget reporting.
• Support the Project Manager with head‑contract variations and claims, providing strategic direction.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in project management or senior project leadership within the construction industry.
• Proven delivery of building projects valued at $100 million or more as Project Director or Senior Project Manager.
• Strong commercial, contractual and HSE management capability on major projects.
