Project Delivery & Technical Manager (Sydney)

About the role

Citygreen's installation business is winning large projects across Sydney and NSW and needs someone to run them from day one. The role takes installed projects from contract award to handover, runs the subcontractors, holds the programme and protects the margin, and sits at the design table with landscape architects, engineers and councils so projects are shaped before they are drawn.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and run delivery of installed projects from contract award to handover
• Engage, brief and supervise installation subcontractors on a piece-rate model, and help build the Sydney subcontractor panel
• Own programme, scope and variations; identify and price variations before work starts
• Protect project gross margin against the costed estimate and manage site safety obligations with subcontractors and the principal contractor
• Run project close-out and lessons learned, feeding findings back into estimating
• Review installations against approved drawings (levels, dimensions, soil volumes, compaction, layering, connections) and keep photographic and inspection records for warranty claims
• Approve or reject BuildPass evidence, raise non-conformances and verify corrective action
• Sit in design team meetings, present to councils and lead technical specifier and client meetings with the sales team
• Deliver CPD and Lunch and Learn sessions to design firms and councils
• Run pre-installation meetings, check drawing packages are buildable and coordinate with landscape architects, engineers, utilities, councils, Sydney Water and Transport for NSW

Required profile

• 5+ years in the landscape industry, with training in landscape architecture, landscape technology or landscape construction; civil construction backgrounds considered
• Hands-on site supervision of landscape installation, as site supervisor, construction manager or contractor-side project manager; a landscape architect with substantial construction administration and site experience is welcome
• Track record of directing landscape or civil crews and accountability for programme, variations or margin on at least one real project
• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly within NSW

Required skills

• Practical knowledge of excavation, compaction, drainage and soil profiles
• Reading and marking up landscape and civil plan sets
• BuildPass or Procore experience, AutoCAD or Civil 3D viewing and markup, and HubSpot or NetSuite experience are a plus
• Nice to have: AILA membership or registration, experience with soil cells or structural soil systems, urban tree planting, and an existing Sydney landscape subcontractor network

What we offer

• A$115,000 to A$135,000 base salary plus superannuation, depending on experience
