Production Quality Specialist - Accessories

About the role

Bellroy releases around 50 new products a year, from wallets and bags to luggage, device cases, straps and travel accessories. As Production Quality Specialist, you will own the standard that decides whether a production run is good enough to ship and hold suppliers to it, run after run. Reporting to the Inbound Supply Chain Manager, you set the standard that the on-site inspector, third-party inspectors and production support crew work to, and you keep standards consistent across factories in different time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Set the accept-or-reject standard for batches and define acceptance levels for on-site and third-party inspectors
• Track quality data, spot trends and turn them into better ways of working
• Manage NCRs and corrective actions, and close them out
• Help build the quality manual and define batch sign-off rules
• Hold overseas suppliers to a standard, raise non-conformances and coordinate remote QA staff and third-party inspections through to pre-shipment sign-off
• Track monthly quality KPIs and write quality reports
• Prioritise pre-shipment inspections and QC checks by risk and launch timing

Required profile

• A few years in quality control or assurance for consumer products made overseas (soft goods, accessories, footwear, technical gear or homewares)
• Experience with pre-production and bulk sample approval using QC manuals, spec sheets and construction standards
• Experience raising non-conformances and driving corrective actions to resolution
• Ability to communicate clearly with suppliers and turn technical findings into plain next steps
• Self-starter who can guide an on-site inspector and production support crew
