Production Operator

About the role

The Production Operator is responsible for setting up, operating and monitoring manufacturing equipment to meet production targets safely and within quality specifications. The role involves hands‑on work on machines such as insert forming machines, wire rollers and injection moulders, as well as supporting continuous‑improvement initiatives on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, operate and monitor manufacturing equipment according to standard operating procedures.
• Achieve production targets while adhering to safety and quality standards.
• Perform part testing during machine setup and operation.
• Complete handovers with incoming/outgoing operators and maintain accurate documentation.
• Troubleshoot setup and operational issues, escalating to maintenance when required.
• Carry out regular housekeeping of machines, workbenches, floors and storage areas.
• Assemble and maintain hand tools and tooling (mandrels, cutters) as per procedures.
• Participate in 3S, 6S and Kaizen events to drive continuous improvement.
• Assist in training fellow Production Operators.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks and report non‑standard issues promptly.
• Order consumables and ensure tooling stock levels are maintained.

• Use of hand tools for tool assembly.
• Knowledge of 3S, 6S and Kaizen continuous‑improvement methodologies.
