Production Operator

About the role

Join Bega Cheese Group at its Lenah Valley site in Hobart as a Production Operator. You will work on a 12‑hour shift pattern (6 days on, 7 days off) in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment that produces over 50 milk‑based products from fresh Tasmanian milk.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and set up production machinery, including fault finding and troubleshooting.
• Perform pasteurising tasks (highly preferred experience).
• Carry out warehouse duties such as forklift operation.
• Record and report production data, complete downtime sheets, and ensure accurate documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of production areas to meet quality standards.
• Follow company safety and quality policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• Forklift licence or willingness to obtain one (highly desirable).
• Positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a proactive, self‑starter mindset.
• Ability to work early start times (3:30 am, 4:30 am or 7:30 am) depending on line assignment.
