Production Manager

About the role

The Production Manager is responsible for all output across Emesent’s product lines, overseeing the production floor, people, processes, schedule execution, quality, and safety. Success is measured by delivering on‑time, on‑budget, and to‑spec production while quickly addressing any constraints.

Key responsibilities

• Own daily and weekly production execution for all product lines, ensuring build orders meet schedule, specifications, and labour budgets.
• Run the daily production cadence: stand‑ups, work allocation, constraint identification, and end‑of‑day status reporting.
• Execute the schedule provided by the Planning Manager; negotiate priorities and communicate revised dates when conflicts arise.
• Maintain real‑time visibility of production status, flagging risks and defining recovery plans.
• Manage the handover to logistics for finished‑goods packaging and dispatch readiness.
• Develop and maintain production processes, work instructions, tooling, fixtures, jigs, and test procedures for each product line.
• Drive continuous improvement using lean methodology (5S, value‑stream mapping, standard work, visual management, waste elimination).
• Prioritise and deliver improvement projects, quantifying labour savings, cycle‑time reductions, and yield gains.
• Lead new‑product introduction from a production readiness perspective, ensuring designs are manufacturable and tooling is in place.
