Product Quality Control Technical Officer

About the role

Join ASC’s Henderson team to deliver Product Quality Control (PQC) inspections, witnessing and testing services for Collins Class submarines. You will work closely with internal teams and approved subcontractors, ensuring that all work meets the stringent quality standards required for Australia’s national security assets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform surface‑treatment inspections and dimensional inspections.
• Conduct pressure testing, metal‑loss inspections, and pressure‑vessel inspections.
• Carry out witnessing, process and weld audits, and testing in line with CCSM requirements.
• Deliver PQC services, verification activities and produce electronic reports using Word and Excel.
• Review quality documentation for Collins Class submarines and liaise with engineering, production, trades and contractors to resolve non‑conformances.
• Ensure compliance with WHS policies, CMS procedures and any reasonable instructions.

Required profile

• Relevant trade or engineering qualification.
• Desirable PQC qualifications such as Metrology CMM experience, CIP/NACE, corrosion technology, AICIP pressure‑vessel inspection, Cert 10 or CSWIP 3.1 or higher.
• Diploma or certificate in quality, auditing or related fields is advantageous.
• Ability to work in a dynamic, hands‑on environment with physical capability and risk awareness, including confined‑space entry.
