Procurement Portfolio Manager – Technology

About the role

Qantas is seeking a Procurement Portfolio Manager to lead technology‑focused sourcing and supplier strategy. You will partner with senior technology leaders to translate the airline’s digital roadmap into concrete procurement outcomes that drive value, resilience and innovation across the group.

Key responsibilities

• Design and execute high‑value sourcing programmes for software, cloud, infrastructure and managed services.
• Negotiate complex contracts in markets with limited supplier options, ensuring sustainable commercial results.
• Manage critical supplier relationships and influence executive decisions on technology investments.
• Build and lead high‑performing category teams, embedding governance, planning and benefits realisation.
• Align procurement activities with the broader technology strategy to support business transformation.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing or commercial roles within large, complex organisations.
• At least 5 years in a senior technology procurement position.
• Proven track record of leading high‑value negotiations in constrained supplier markets.
• Strong stakeholder influence, commercial acumen and ability to operate in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.
