Procurement Officer

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking a Procurement Officer to manage contracting arrangements with suppliers that meet cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements. You will work within a global defence, aerospace and security environment, supporting the delivery of advanced technology solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Aid the procurement elements of bids and tenders, ensuring robust definition of requirements and commercial terms.
• Support supplier evaluation processes and provide sourcing recommendations.
• Develop and implement supplier sourcing strategies for the business.
• Proactively manage supplier performance against schedule, cost and quality targets, establishing relevant KPIs.
• Lead negotiations and finalise Supplier Agreements and purchase orders in line with procedures and Delegations of Authority.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field is desirable.
• Defence industry experience is highly regarded.
• Demonstrated experience in procurement, supply chain or commercial functions.
• Ability to manage stakeholder expectations and deliver on commitments.

Required skills

• Experience with Aveva and/or Oracle.
• Proven experience in contract development and negotiation with key suppliers.
• Strong analytical and supplier performance management capabilities.
