Procurement Contract Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and commercially astute Procurement & Contracts Manager to join our in‑house development and projects team. This hands‑on, managerial position sits at the intersection of commercial management, construction procurement, and consultant engagement, overseeing the full tender and award process for major building works and professional consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project‑specific procurement strategies aligned with programme timelines and risk appetite.
• Advise on appropriate contract structures (lump sum, GMP, D&C, cost‑plus, construction management).
• Prepare and issue Expressions of Interest (EOI) and Requests for Tender (RFT) for head contractors, specialist subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage the tender period, including site briefings, RFI responses, addenda and clarification registers.
• Lead quantitative and qualitative tender evaluations and produce analysis reports for senior leadership.
• Negotiate and finalize contract terms, preliminaries and conditions (AS 4000, AS 4902 or bespoke forms).
• Coordinate the engagement, fee negotiation and agreement of professional consultants across all disciplines.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction procurement and contract management.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to protect organisational interests.
• Hands‑on approach to managing complex tender processes from inception to award.
• Excellent stakeholder management with internal teams and external consultants.
