Procurement Business Partner

About the role

The Procurement Business Partner will support a leading Northern Territory utility provider by coordinating end‑to‑end procurement activities, delivering compliant and value‑for‑money outcomes, and strengthening stakeholder relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert procurement advice in line with frameworks, policies and governance.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies, sourcing plans and negotiation approaches.
• Support complex procurement activities including market engagement, tender documentation and supplier selection.
• Facilitate commercial negotiations across goods, construction, professional and technical services.
• Identify risks, emerging issues and opportunities for strategic improvement.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, systems and performance reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience across the procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, tendering and contracting.
• Strong commercial awareness with analytical skills to achieve value‑for‑money outcomes.
• Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and relationship management abilities.
• Experience in improving procurement processes and contributing to policy development.
• Understanding of project management principles and continuous improvement techniques.

Required skills

• Knowledge of procurement governance, risk management and compliance frameworks.
• Strong research, investigation and analytical capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including negotiation.
