Private Wealth Adviser / Associate

About the role

The Private Wealth Adviser supports Senior Private Wealth Advisers in managing financial advice relationships with high-net-worth ANZ Private clients. The role delivers or supports compliant retail financial advice based on clients' values and goals, supports wholesale advice, and may hold the primary relationship with some retail clients. It is a permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) position in Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

• Support Senior Private Wealth Advisers in managing client relationships
• Provide high-quality retail financial advice aligned with clients' values, goals and financial position
• Follow Private Bank policy and process for advice delivery and investment execution
• Oversee and approve the implementation of client advice and instructions
• Work within an advice team of senior advisers, advice assistants and paraplanners
• Engage regularly with referral partners such as private bankers and business bankers
• Comply with the Corporations Act, ASIC requirements, the Adviser Code of Ethics and other legal obligations
• Resolve or escalate client complaints and record them according to policy
• Support client retention and growth, and support business partners across Private Bank, Commercial and Retail with momentum and referrals

Required profile

• Ideal completion of the financial adviser professional exam
• Ideal completion of the professional year if required to provide retail financial advice
• Previous experience providing retail financial advice to high-net-worth clients with complex needs
• Excellent understanding of financial services products, including investments, superannuation, SMSF and insurance
• Excellent understanding of the advice process and legal and regulatory requirements
